Smart Vision 3 Assistant
Welcome to the "Assistant" application.
Designed to store popular information that can be used repeatedly, easily assessed and maybe used across multiple applications.
Smart Assistant is a standalone application that needs no installation. Once downloaded you can use it immediately.
This version has been specifically designed to be used with the Vision 3 clinical system that uses READ2 codes.

Hide Assistant:
There are 2 options assigned to the hide status of the interface.
- Small Toolbar: This will show a small floating button to the right side of the screen. When you want to re-open the application just click this button.
- Toaster effect: This moves the application off into the right side of the screen, out of sight. When you move your mouse pointer over to the right side of the screen area it will pop-out.
Your preferred option can be selected under the File menu. Note: You can also simply minimise it to the taskbar as well.
Saved Text:
This allow you to store any amount of text, that you can then use within any application.
Once the text is saved, just simply double-click on the appropriate line to use the text.
There are 4 additional options to set the saved text against: Clipboard, Advice, SMS, and V+ template.
Clipboard: adds your text to the Windows clipboard, which allows you to paste it into any application.
The other options are Vision 3 specific:
Advice and SMS will automatically open the entity in Consultation Manager and apply your saved text.
V+ template: adds the text to the Windows clipboard, but automatically converts it to a single line, as V+ only accepts single line text.
You also have the option to assign a Topic and User when saving the text. These have filters in the top section of the application, which will reduce the contents of the list view to your chosen selection in the drop-down list. Useful when used across the practice, so you can quickly see your own saved text, or topics.
Vision Quick Adds
These are preset actions that will automatically open the specific entity within Vision Consultation Manager.
Some actions will lead to other questions and lists, but the end result is fast data entry with a single click
Actions that display and asterisk *; include many clinical codes i.e. drug allergies. Therefore these lists provide a quick search option, so you can enter some partial text to reduce the list of codes from the characters you have entered.

Favourite Clinical Codes
This section allows you to control the majority of the data entry when recording a READ2 code into a medical history entity. So that you only need double-click a line in the list, to enter the data exactly how you have set it up, including free text comments.
There is also an option for SDA data entry, that will simply open the Vision 3 assigned default SDA based on the READ2 code.
Correspondence
This section enables you to create a list of shortcuts to popular documents you wish to use in Consultation manager, which saves you having to navigate through various folders to find the document you are looking for.
When you double-click on a document in the list to open it, you are asked if you want to open the document in a Referral or Clinical Correspondence (Letter) entity (subject to the merge fields in the selected document).
The Clinical Correspondence (Letter) entity in Consultation Manager also allows you the option to automatically record a clinical code for the selected document. For example if you open an insurance mail merge letter, you could assign the READ2 code “9K2..00 Insurance form”, which may be useful for Searches & Reports.
Practice Links
This is a multi-functional section that allows you to save shortcuts to a number of different things, which then gives you quick and easy access to go to or open them, such as:
- Websites
- Email addresses
- Any file i.e. executables, documents, images etc…
- Contact numbers
- General internal notes
Writing Pad
This can be used where the text area for typing may be to small. It allow you to control the font size, and the typing text area may also be expanded all the way up to full screen.
Once you have entered your text you can then click one of the copy options to save it to the windows clipboard, so that you can paste it into any application.
Paste Target includes an option for the VisionPlus template comments area, which will automatically convert your text to a single line, as that’s what the comments field will accept in a VisionPlus template.
Copy NHS/CHI/H+C number
This option on the 1st screen or via the File menu, will capture the number from the open patient record in Consultation Manager and add it to the Microsoft Windows clipboard so that you may paste it (Ctrl+V) in to any other application.
It is country specific; therefore in Wales and England it will capture the NHS No. Scotland will be the CHI number, and NI will be the H+C number.
Directions
Also on the 1st screen or via the File menu. This will capture the patients address from the open patient record in Consultation Manager, and then open the default browser and site for maps (i.e. Google maps) to give directions from the practice to the patient address.
Smart Assistant is a licenced application.
This is a yearly practice (ODS code) licence of £110+VAT (all these features for less than 6p a day) for unlimited users.
